It's a great plan B to have if you need to always be available, whether it's for work or personal reasons. There are plenty of benefits to WiFi calling. Once you discover what they are, you'll wonder how you ever did without it.
T-Mobile's wifi calling usually works on factory unlocked phones, except Windows Phones I believe. I know it works on iPhones and a lot of Androids. Exactly right, it's a carrier specific feature on their branded phones, so unless you root your unlocked-bring-it-on-your-carrier-network-on-your-own phone, your not going to get it.
